Partnership with Perez Technology Group to Benefit 5,000 People in 2025
ORLANDO, Fla. (April 24, 2025) – Senior Resource Alliance (SRA) – in its second collaboration with Perez Technology Group – is donating 5,000 downloads of CyberFence to local seniors in 2025.
The user-friendly app blocks cybersecurity threats and encrypts sensitive data to ensure peace of mind and protect vulnerable older adults when navigating the growing digital landscape. 5,000 downloads were donated in 2024.
Elder fraud – which often takes place online – cost the average victim nearly $34,000 in 2023, with more than $3.4 billion in losses nationwide. Common scams include:
- Tech support schemes
- Phishing and smishing
- Fake shopping websites
“More of day-to-day life is going digital, which means there are increased opportunities for bad actors to take advantage of people,” said Karla Radka, President & CEO of SRA. “This partnership empowers Central Florida’s seniors to schedule telehealth appointments and connect with loved ones virtually without having to worry about criminals stealing their private information or hard-earned money.”
To learn how to access CyberFence, call SRA’s Elder Helpline at 1-800-96-ELDER.
