Avalon Park, Fla. (January 15, 2015) – Ron St. John has joined Encore at Avalon Park Assisted Living and Memory Care as the Director of Memory Care. In this capacity, St. John will oversee all aspects of the company’s memory care programs.

St. John’s experience with memory care came from a personal perspective, as he left his career in technology to become a caregiver for his mother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. After she passed, St. John went to University of Central Florida, becoming a Certified Case Manager, a Qualified Dementia Care Provider, a State of Florida-approved Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorder’s instructor, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
In 2015 he became involved with the national Music and Memory program as a certified facilitator and implemented this great person-centered care program in numerous long term care communities.
St. John is also a member of the Dementia Care Professionals of America and the National Family Caregivers Association. He has received the Pat Jimison Community Ambassador Award and the Jacqueline Onassis Jefferson Award for Public Service from the American Institute of Public Service.
